Tropical Storm Erika formed on August 24 of 2015. Erika would become one of the deadliest storms to hit Dominica since Hurricane David in 1979. On August 27, Erika would make her first land fall on the Leeward Islands. Landslides, flooding, power outages and fallen trees were reported on the islands of Guadeloupe, Martinique, and Basse-Terre. The following day - August 28 - Erika made landfall in the Dominican Republic. Erika is the cause of 20 homes or so being completely destroyed and 823 homes had damage done to them. 7,345 people were displaced. 80% of the area was flooded by Erika. Many deaths happened. Prime Minister Skerrit says that the cost of the damage done by Erika will set the country back at least 20 years of the terms for development. Haiti, Cuba and Puerto Rico suffered heavy rains, which were much needed, and power outages.

It is now official. The Remnants of Erika are now under watch as the remnants could re-develop back into Erika. Either as a Tropical Depression Erika or Tropical Storm Erika on Sunday or Monday. Summary of Erika will be put on hold. *
